| This site was created as a supliment to the official Shareaza Open-Source Project web site. It has also become something of a security center for information about frauds and about sites that offer incorrect downloads and links to fraudulent Shareaza sites. After the Shareaza.com domain (web site) was taken over by Discordia, a great deal of confusion has occured among past Shareaza users in regard to where they can go for official project information. People are still to this day visiting the Shareaza.com site (now under the control of Discordia, as are other titles like BearShare and iMesh) and downloading malicious and fraudulent software under the assumption that it is the official Shareaza software. It is not. Other web sites have sprung up in a sort of feeding frenzy to malign, discredit and profit from the Shareaza name, which was (and is) enormously popular. This site will direct Shareaza users and fans to official sites, resources and downloads. The official forums leave very little room for a broad array of security related forums and due to their nature, the official forums must force their users to excersize more restraint when publishing their views and opinions. While hate messages are not endorsed here, users can feel a little more freedom to express their views on Shareaza security and fraud related topics. | Shareaza is a free and openly developed software product which has now existed for six years. It was first designed by a lone programmer and was eventually released into the open-source community to be developed by many programmers around the world. Shareaza is what we call a "P2P Client", which uses networks of computers across Internet to facilitate file sharing and other communications. With Shareaza (and other P2P software) you can share files with a vast community of people who wish to make Internet a better place by sharing their creations and technologies. Shareaza was not designed to pirate copyrighted materials, nor were the networks it uses... unfortunately virtually every method of sharing files on Internet has become a place for pirates to spread their wares, including the web. People who tell you that "P2P networks are pirate networks" really have very little understanding of how Internet works and are not familiar with the various protocols which are used to transfer files. Any file transfer protocol (including P2P, the Web [HTTP], and Chat [IRC], among many others) can be used to send copyrighted works to connecting computers, but due largely to the efficiency of the P2P networks and their ability to share files from a huge number of sources - the people who wish to spread copyrighted works have chosen it as their preferred method. Like with the World Wide Web, there is really no way to stop piracy except to pursue those who engage in it. If we eradicate a P2P network because people share files on it, then we must also eradicate the Web and FTP and IRC and MSN Messanger and EMail and any other form of communication which facilitates file transfers. |

 2008-12-19: Application Interface Translator(s)
A moderator of the official Shareaza forums (and Shareaza translator) is looking for assistance in translating the information displayed in the software interface into languages other than English. As you may know, the Shareaza software application is multilanguage based. In this position you will stay in contact with "Omega09" (a Shareaza forums moderator and Shareaza translator), who will direct you in regard to what content should be translated. You'll assist him by making the Shareaza software application more useful and comprehensible in various languages. While you might not be expert in these qualifications, experience is required in... Information management (document handling). Document translation (based on English). Fluency in the language you'll be translating English to. The Sharelin project is a G2 client for Linux users. So you ask 'What is this doing on a Shareaza site?'... While this is a Shareaza related site, G2 is a Shareaza technology so Sharelin does have a right to be associated. If you use Linux (a popular operating system and alternative to Windows) and you are interested in the G2 client, or if you have other reasons for interest in the Sharelin project, here are a few of the reasons it is shown on this site and the links to the Sharelin project.
This is a G2 client and G2 is a Shareaza technology (G2 is an abbreviation for the "Gnutella 2 Network"). It is a Linux based application, which is more rare as it is not for Windows. The project is managed by a Shareaza project member, and a very trustworthy man. The Sharelin project has been given a forum on Shareaza's official site for developement.  Trusted Shareaza Domains

In contrast to the list I'm about to provide below, it's right to let you know which domains are safe and trusted. These domains are either official Shareaza domains, Shareaza Developer domains or Shareaza Supporter domains and can be trusted in regard to content. As to what maturity rating should be applied to any of them (For example; Rated R, Rated G, etc.) is for you to decide. I would like to be able to say unwaveringly that these domains are completely child-safe but some may carry ads which show questionable images, as so many sites do and are not entirely in control of. If you have a white-list (list of trusted sites) in your firewall or web browser, I highly recommend that you ad these as specifically trusted domains.

 Shareaza Fraudsters and P2P Terrorists

I'm more than happy to point these fraudsters out for you. The bulk of the listed domains are operated by frauds and spammers which have been associated to the entertainment industry (Sony, MGM, etc.) via Discordia and other (rogue) hosts. Let it be known that the following sites are fraudulently titled, malicious in content and/or prone to spyware and adware. They are (many of the upper and lower list) supported by "DNS Made Easy", which is a service provided by "Tiggee LLC" that allows them to operate with concealed identities and resources. The interesting thing about the domains on the upper list (directly below this) is that ALL of them - every single one - is directly associated to one of the others through any number of the domains in the lower list. All of the blacklisted domains below (both the upper list and lower list) are associated by links to each other either through hosting or advertising on their web sites. This means that iMesh and MusicLab are closely connected to one or more of the most diverse and global fraud/spam gangs in the world. You should never visit or download from these sites as they are in violation of licenses and have stolen the Shareaza name in an attempt to repackage it. If you have a black-list (list of untrusted or blocked sites) in your firewall or web browser, I highly recommend that you ad these as specifically untrusted or blocked domains.
As for fraud and copyright violations, note the titles which are found in the domain names and typically the products which are advertised on the web sites. These idiots have even toyed with Microsoft products. You'll see such titles as Adobe, Ares, AVG, Avast, eMule, Nero, Shareaza, WinMX, WinRAR, BearFlix, PSP, Limewire, iPhone, iPod, Zune, Kazaa, BearShare, eDonkey, Napster, Grokster, Gnutella, ICQ, Morpheus, PeerGuardian, Skype, Exeem, and Xolox (among others).

 Who and Why?

| If you are wondering why these dirtbags do what they do; They claim (Discordia for the greater part) that it's to stop the piracy of copyrighted movies and music (though they have multiple and often unclear motives - some for huge legal and illegal profit and others, ironically, for the defense of other copyrighted materials). The others (such as those in the larger lists), are doing it specifically to rape the titles they have used in their domain names to defraud you out of your money. While anti-piracy might be a legitimate cause, these fraud/spam gangs, while concurrently voicing their hatred for piracy and endorsing/engaging in it, are fighting it by completely ridding you of any method of sharing files on Internet. Ten years ago, everyone I know would have rejected the thought that people would try something like this - as complete lunacy. Believe me... these people exist and they are willing to strip you of every right you have in order to get their way. They have attacked virtually every form of P2P sharing software and successfully stolen or otherwise consumed some of the most popular titles. They have launched suit after suit against P2P software creators and their affiliates and supporters (such as SourceForge.net) and meanwhile they are connected to the most interconnected and diverse gang of frauds I have ever snooped out. While you're sitting there 'taking it' from these criminals, they are running loose through Internet and the court system, stripping you of your legal rights. Time to do something about it, don't you think? |
